Sainsbury\u2019s has today launched another store, opening to customers on Wembley\u2019s High Road.<\/p>\n

The store is supported by a colleague team of 17, including seven new recruits to the business. Most of the colleagues live nearby to the new store and are very excited to be working locally and serving the community.<\/p>\n

The Sainsbury\u2019s team will play an active role in the local area and support Sainsbury\u2019s nationwide community programmes and charity partners. In January Sainsbury\u2019s also announced an additional \u00a31 million community fund for stores to donate to charities and other good causes in their local areas. This follows Sainsbury\u2019s \u2018Help Brighten a Million Christmases\u2019 campaign that raised \u00a36 million in December for over 800 charity partners, including local charities Brent Food Bank, Centrepoint \u2013 Llanover Road and The Felix Project.<\/p>\n

Sainsbury\u2019s Wembley Place Local store features over 2,600 products, including an excellent range of fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy, fresh bakery and other household grocery products. Customers can also pick up a coffee from the instore self-service Costa machine.<\/p>\n

The convenience store was officially opened by Brent Council Mayor, Cllr. Ernest Ezeajughi and will be open to customers every day of the week from 7am until 11pm.<\/p>\n

Mayor of Brent Council Cllr. Ernest Ezeajughi said:<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cThis is a growing community and it\u2019s wonderful to see it get the investment and services it needs to thrive. This new store brings more convenience and jobs, and I\u2019m delighted to have the opportunity to mark the opening day with the Sainsbury\u2019s team.\u00a0 We all know Sainsbury\u2019s remains committed to feeding the nation throughout COVID-19 and it\u2019s fantastic that even more people will be able to do their essential shopping as safely and efficiently as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sainsbury\u2019s Property Director Patrick Dunne said:<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cWe\u2019re excited to offer the local community a fresh and convenient shopping experience alongside Sainsbury\u2019s renowned colleague service. This new edition to our store estate looks fantastic and I\u2019m so proud of the hard work everyone has put in to get the store launch ready.
